Players are allowed to place their words either vertically or horizontally with the ultimate goal of scoring as many points as they can! During a turn, players can either choose to play a word, swap a tile, or pass their turn. The game starts with the players receiving 7 randomly generated tiles which are replenished throughout the game until the 104 tiles are used. The only main differences are the arrangement of premium squares and some of the letters feature different point values/distribution. In terms of the rules of Words With Friends, they are fairly similar to those of Scrabble. There is also a chat feature included in the game so opponents can catch up while playing a fun game of Words with Friends! In fact, the chat feature has led to a number of romantic relationships and marriages after players have been randomly assigned together. Players can either choose to play with their friends or family by searching for their username, be randomly assigned a player through “Smart Match,” or find potential opponents using the community match feature. These games are done electronically either on Facebook, the app, or various other web platforms. Players on Words with Friends can simultaneously play up to 40 different games at any given time. While Scrabble and Words with Friends follow similar rules, they are two separate games. Words with Friends is a multiplayer word game where players take turns creating words, similar to the way done in Scrabble. What exactly is Words with Friends and how is the board game different from Scrabble?
